1951 Buick Special
51 Buick Special
4 door tourback Sedan
263 cu. in. straight eight engine
3 speed transmission
This car was purchased in July of 51 in Clarkdale, Az. and lived its entire life there. Believe it or not, I am the second owner. I purchased the car in 95 and have enjoyed it ever since. The car has no cancer and is a strong runner, licensed and a daily driver. It's time for a new project. I basically brought her back to life...I was told that the engine was freshly over hauled and I always had my suspects until I removed the valve cover for an adjustment and found the engine was spotless inside. I rebuilt the two barrel Carter, replaced the dual diaphram fuel pump, coil, plugs, points, etc. There is not too much I haven't fixed or visited on this car. The body is perfect for restoration and has all original glass. Buick in these years had some pretty cool features: the piano hood (pull both latches and the hood lifts off w/no bolts), two heater cores (the conventional core on the fire wall and one under the front seat to keep your feet warm), and of course, the radio antenna on the roof. I have all the bright work except the port holes and the back up lights (my neighbor needed them worse then I did). A great car all around. I drive it just about daily and it runs great...eight in a row will go...
